Part 07 β Sarah's Voice
How to sound like you
in every single piece.
This is the most important section for anyone helping you create content. Every post β whether you write it, batch it, or have AI help β must pass the voice test. These patterns were built from your actual posts.
How You Open
You don't open with a lesson. You open with a confession, a realization, or a raw moment. You pull people in by being mid-thought β like they're catching you in the middle of figuring something out yourself. You never start from the stage. You start from the mess.
"I didn't have shiny object syndrome β I had self-hatred."
"This afternoon I found myself saying 'I'm so overwhelmed.' But then it hit meβ¦"
"I'm going through another round of shedding."
"'But did I do enough?'"
How You Build
You build by going deeper into your own experience first, then widening it to include the reader. You use "I" before you use "you." You earn the right to speak into their life by showing them yours first.
Tell the surface story β then reveal the real one underneath. Real-time narration, step by step, plain language. Lists that breathe β short standalone lines where big truths land. No rushing.
"I'd sign up and then immediately start looking for the part that would fix my problem. Although deep down it was never about fixing the problem, it was about fixing me."
How You Land the Punch
You don't lecture. You name the wound in plain language β usually one sentence that hits like a gut punch because it's so simple. You build emotionally, then drop ONE line that names the truth. Then you let it sit. You don't over-explain. The space after the line is part of the impact.
"It was always about me trying to be better which ultimately translated to β I'M NOT ENOUGH as I am."
"The SECOND I labeled it properly my system went into solution mode."
Your Sentence Rhythm
A mix of conversational flow and sharp standalone lines. Long sentences feel like a friend talking. Short sentences feel like truth landing. The contrast is what makes it feel alive β never monotone.
Conversational run β gut punch β reveal β breathing room (standalone lines) β softening.
"You are worthy. You are deserving. You are enough." β each on its own line, with space between them.
How You Sell
You never pitch cold. You walk them through the wound, let them feel it, and then offer the solution as a natural next step. Your CTAs feel like invitations, not pressure.
"It's probably the only thing you haven't actually tried yet⦠so why not give it a whirl?"
"Maybe you'll show up for it, maybe you won't."
"But do you really want it to keep being this hard? What do you have to lose? π€·ββοΈ"

What You Never Do
- Lecture or preach from above β always speak from beside, never above
- Use generic coach language ("level up," "boss babe," "crush it," "girl boss")
- Rush to the lesson β let the story breathe first
- Make the reader feel stupid for being stuck β make them feel seen
- Sell with urgency or scarcity β sell with honesty and open invitation
- End on the pitch β always close with warmth after the CTA
- Use bullet lists in your actual posts β flowing paragraphs with standalone lines only
- Over-explain the metaphor β drop it and trust the reader to feel it
Before posting any content, ask: Does this sound like I'm talking to a friend over coffee? Does it start from my experience, not from a lesson? Does it end with warmth, not pressure? If I saw this in someone else's feed, would I know it was mine?
